Ian Kinloch

Ian Kinloch is Professor of Materials Science at the University of Manchester, He leads the Advanced Nanostructures Group within the Department of Materials and the National Graphene Institute and holds an EPSRC Challenging Engineering Fellowship and EPSRC/RAEng Research Fellowship.

He moved to Manchester in 2006, having previously worked as a PDRA and studied for a PhD in Materials Science at the University of Cambridge and getting a BSc(Hons) in Physics at the University of Durham.

He is currently Director of Materials for the Department of Materials, Deputy Theme Leader for the 2D Theme in the Henry Royce Institute and Deputy Work-package Leader of the Composites Theme in the Graphene Flagship.
