Chris is an Associate Professor at the University of Nottingham leading a highly multi-disciplinary group who conduct research, development and commercialisation studies into microwave heating technologies which deliver economic and technical benefits across a wide range of applications and sectors. He is an investigator and co-ordinating over £15m of research projects working with global industries, companies and research collaborators on projects from laboratory to large industrial scale (>150tph). Chris has >15 years’ experience in the design, scale up and evaluation of industrial microwave processes and an in depth understanding of the interaction of microwave energy with a wide range of materials. He has significant experience in the design and optimisation of laboratory and on-site pilot and industrial scale applications of microwave technologies. Chris is an inventor on over 25 patents and an author on over 30 peer reviewed journal papers and over 25 conference publications. >50% of papers are within the top 10% by SNIP and >30% in the top 10% most cited worldwide.
