Beth Russell is a PhD student within the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral training (CDT) in Advanced Composites for Innovation and Science, at the Bristol Composites Institute, University of Bristol. Before commencing her PhD, Beth received a MChem in Chemistry from The University of York, where her final year was completed in industry (Cytec, Redcar), developing polymer resins. Her present project is sponsored by Hitachi Chemical Company Ltd. and focuses on the optimisation of a novel resin system for application to composite wind turbine blades, exploring the processing characteristics and final properties of this system.
