CIMComp, the EPSRC Future Composites Manufacturing Research Hub, is pleased to announce its fourth annual open day for 2022, taking place on 13th September at the University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC).
The free-to-attend, in-person event will showcase the latest discussions and Hub projects into composite manufacturing, sustainability, and supply chains through dedicated speaker sessions throughout the day. Innovative composite study in the form of poster presentations will be hosted by current PhD students and researchers, while Hub partners will have the opportunity to highlight current research progress.
The event is an exciting opportunity for those involved in the field of composites manufacturing to learn about and experience the latest advances and innovations made in composite materials by the Hub, with the opportunity to contribute to ongoing developments and expansions within the research of composites manufacturing.
Keynote speaker Dr Stu Morris, Engineering Director at Pentaxia, will precede a host of sessions regarding subjects such as recycling and sustainability, enabling technologies such as additive and compression moulding, and Out of Autoclave Processing. Event partners SAMPE UK & Ireland will host its Young Engineers Competition, in which students can compete in a ‘design & make’ contest that will be judged with prizes awarded on the day.
Lee Harper, Hub Manager, said: “We look forward to welcoming everyone to what is going to be another engaging open day, exploring the Hub’s progressive research into advanced composite manufacturing. Thank you to SAMPE UK & Ireland for supporting the fourth-year event—we can’t wait to see everyone there.”
